Based in West Yorkshire, Beech Veterinary Physiotherapy Services provides mobile Veterinary Physiotherapy services to both small and large animals, working in partnership with other Veterinary Professionals.

Nicola Beech, Veterinary Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science,

PgDip Veterinary Physiotherapy, MNAVP

After growing up on a small holding, Nicola has developed an empathy and passion for animals health, welfare and well being, with over twenty years of experience caring for, owning and training a wide range of her own animals.

With a fascination for biology and Veterinary science, Nicola gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Bioveterinary Science from the University of Lincoln, with specialised areas ranging from clinical nutritional science, Veterinary microbiology and parasitology, to animal management and livestock systems. Whilst performing a range of veterinary anatomy dissections, Nicola developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics and locomotion, leading to the chosen progression to Postgraduate study.

Continuing onto postgraduate study, Nicola gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy from Harper Adams University, which consisted of a range of practical and lecture based learning. In regards to the practical aspects of Nicola’s training, she has carried out numerous work placements with a wide range of fully qualified Veterinary Physiotherapists, including mobile Equine Physiotherapists and rehabilitation establishments, such as, the Royal Veterinary College and the Wits End Rehabilitation Centre.

In addition, Nicola has also completed independent work experience placements within a range of small and large animal Veterinary practices, with a total of ten weeks with Hird and Partners, and six months with Vets For Pets Halifax. The focus of which being on the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions in both small and large animals.

In combination with college and university study, Nicola has also gained qualifications in animal care and knowledge with the British Horse Society, and gained a certificate in Canine and Feline Emergency First Aid Techniques with Vets Now.
